Terms of Service

Last updated: May 22, 2026

Welcome to DataForge. These Terms govern your access to and use of the DataForge website, courses, exercises, Bug Hunt arena, glossary, and any other services we provide (the 'Service'). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility & Account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the platform, or attempt to circumvent paid features.

2. Free Trial & Subscriptions

New users receive a 7-day free trial. After the trial ends, continued access to paid features requires an active subscription, billed monthly via Stripe.

Prices and currencies are shown at checkout. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — we do not pro-rate refunds for partial periods.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) scrape, copy, or redistribute course content without written permission; (b) share your account with others; (c) attempt to bypass security, rate limits, or paywalls; (d) upload malware or attack the platform; (e) use the AI tutor for purposes unrelated to learning data engineering.

4. User Content

When you submit questions to the AI tutor or interact with exercises, you grant DataForge a non-exclusive license to process that content to provide the Service and improve the platform.

You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the right to share it.

5. Intellectual Property

Course material, exercises, the Bug Hunt bank, the glossary, badges, copy, and the DataForge name and logo are owned by DataForge and protected by copyright and trademark law.

Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable license to access the content for learning purposes.

6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided 'as is'. We do not guarantee that the content will make you a Senior Data Engineer or land you a job — outcomes depend on your effort.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DataForge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or via a banner on the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
