Terms of Service
Last updated: July 20, 2026
Welcome to DataForge. These Terms govern your access to and use of the DataForge website, courses, exercises, Bug Hunt arena, glossary, and any other services we provide (the 'Service'). DataForge is operated by Lucas Santos de Oliveira ('we', 'us', or 'DataForge'), an individual seller trading as DataForge. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility & Account
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the platform, or attempt to circumvent paid features.
2. Merchant of Record & Payment Processing
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
This means when you purchase a subscription, your contract for the purchase is with Paddle, and Paddle handles payment, billing, tax collection and remittance, invoicing, refunds, and chargebacks on our behalf. Your use of the Service itself is governed by these Terms with Lucas Santos de Oliveira.
Payment mechanics — including accepted payment methods, currency, taxes, billing cycles, and refunds — are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms, available at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
3. Free Trial & Subscriptions
New users receive a 7-day free trial. After the trial ends, continued access to paid features requires an active subscription, billed monthly through Paddle.
Prices and currencies are shown at checkout. You authorize Paddle, as Merchant of Record, to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from your account settings or from the Paddle customer portal (paddle.net). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; refunds are handled under our Refund Policy and Paddle's Buyer Terms.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) scrape, copy, or redistribute course content without written permission; (b) share your account with others; (c) attempt to bypass security, rate limits, or paywalls; (d) upload malware or attack the platform; (e) use the AI tutor for purposes unrelated to learning data engineering; (f) use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or infringing.
5. User Content
When you submit questions to the AI tutor or interact with exercises, you grant DataForge a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process that content solely to provide and improve the Service.
You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the right to share it.
6. Intellectual Property
Course material, exercises, the Bug Hunt bank, the glossary, badges, copy, and the DataForge name and logo are owned by DataForge and protected by copyright and trademark law.
Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access the content for learning purposes. No reverse engineering, resale, or redistribution.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided 'as is' and 'as available'. We disclaim all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the content will make you a Senior Data Engineer or land you a job — outcomes depend on your effort.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DataForge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill). Our total aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated policy violations. Upon termination your license to access the Service ends; personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brazil, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or via a banner on the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
